Photos of a self-learning module (SLM) are going rounds online as netizens call out the Department of Education (DepEd) for releasing a learning material that was perceived to place Vice President Leni Robredo in a bad light.
Robredo, who is running for president in the May 2022 elections, was the topic of activity in a module prepared for Senior High School (SHS).
In a DepEd SLM entitled “Introduction to the Philosophy of Human Person,” the learners were asked several questions — all about Robredo.
Netizens expressed concern over the said module since the questions were perceived to be out of context.
A Twitter user with the handle @alex_abano could not help but say: “how could you, deped!”
@radishroo also expressed disappointment saying: “DepEd, I’m a future teacher. This is not how we make an assessment. Shame.”
@macronikki asked DepEd: “What garbage is this?” while @lunaracha said: “jusko deped- this is the reason why we have [an] educational crisis naman.”
In one of the multiple-choice questions, the learners were asked to identify which among the headlines had no errors in terms of spelling, grammar, and content. Among the choices were:
A. Robredo Chides Government for Unclear Communication on New Quarantine Rules
B. Robredo Blames the Government as They Don’t Have Clear Rules in Quarantine
C. Robredo Charge the Government as Culprit for Confusion in Quarantine
D. Robredo blames those in Executive Branch for Communication’s Unclear
In another question, the learners were asked to identify which among these statements contain “substantiated generalizations.” Robredo was once again featured among the choices which include:
A. “Drug war a massive failure” – Robredo
B. Robredo lies to the world, shames the nation and herself in UN message
C. The real albatross on Leni Robredo’s neck
D. Let Leni plan on her own drug war
A Twitter user with the handle @SuperMissYu said: “And we thought they cannot go down any lower. @DepEd_PH please lang.”
@poet_things added: “It will [be] a shame to DEPED if they don’t do any actions on the issue of a Learning module putting VP Robredo on [sic] bad light.”
